Target Research For My Solo
Exercises I am going to use to improve my breath control and why this is important.
One exercise I plan to try is doing huge breath, for this I am lying on my back taking some breaths that are focused on my diaphragm, inhaling through my nose for 4 seconds, holding for 8 and exhaling for 8 seconds again. Trying to get as much air in my lungs as possible using my diaphragm.
This exercise will help me because it focuses on your breathing and this is a crucial part when it comes to singing, for example if you were to blow loads of air out and then try to singing a long note you would find this very difficult.
To be able to control your vocals you must be able to also control your air, this means being able to exhale a steady stream of air that will allow you to sing a phrase consistently from the start till the end of it. You need to also be able to control how much you inhale as much as you exhale air.

Your lungs need the diaphragm so that they can stretch when they inhale and let go when you exhale.
When you breath in, air is inhaled and your chest will expand, and when you breath out, air is exhaled and your chest will contract.
